**SOCIAL CLASSES ARE BACK!! We couldn’t be more excited to see you all again! We have very important information on these classes, so please read below before coming to these classes!

– these classes will be limited to only 25 people per class and you MUST sign up each week before you can come to the class on Saturday.

– masks are NOT required

– you cannot sign up for a class for future weeks, you can only sign up for the upcoming Saturday

– we will run our regularly scheduled classes (dogs over 50lbs and over 1 year will attend 11am class. Small dogs under 30lbs and/or puppies under 5 months old (even if over 30lbs) can attend the 10am class. Dogs between 30-60lbs and/or between 5-12 months (unless under 30lbs) can attend the medium dog class at 11am)

To sign up each Saturday you can either text the business phone (801.735.1978) or message our Facebook page and we will get you on the list for that upcoming Saturday class.

Wasatch Canine Camp, LLC has been offering Pack to Basics ™ classes every Saturday since 2008, and is the longest running socialization class of this kind in Utah County.

Each class is about 30-45 minutes long and usually has anywhere from 10-35 dogs per class.  Since these classes are indoors, we have a more limited space for class size.

Each class will max out at 35 dogs.  If we hit capacity, we will try to accommodate for you, or have you wait until the next class.  You will also not be able to attend more than one class each Saturday, unless otherwise worked out with us, so plan on only attending one class.

We will be extremely strict with start times for these classes from now on, and will be locking the doors when class is starting.  It is too difficult, and in many cases dangerous to get dogs in and out of class once class has started, especially in a smaller space.  Please be on time, or you will miss out on class.

If you are new or you are bringing a new dog to class that has not been before, you need to contact us prior to attending class to schedule a time to have your dog evaluated for class.

Pack to Basics ™ is a unique way to socialize your canine friend. This class uses a dog’s natural instincts of communication and pack mentality to help your dog remember the proper way to communicate and interact with other dogs. Many dogs are nervous, aggressive, overly playful, or pushy when it comes to being around other dogs. By using Pack to Basics ™ your dog will realize that it can relax and communicate around other dogs the way nature intended.

Developer Chad Mackin made Pack to Basics ™ by modifying the large field socialization approach that was first brought to America by Dick Russell.  This revolutionary program can be used regardless of size or space limitations you may have.  Chad has worked with countless trainers, including Bethany Tracy, to help them bring this program into their own training programs, bringing the true understanding of canine socialization to greater levels.  Bethany is one of the few trainers in the world that is allowed to use the Pack to Basics ™ name and run these classes.  To find out more about Pack to Basics ™ click here.

Pack to Basics Class Rules:

**Please keep in mind that these rules are for you and your dog’s safety.  Please follow them so our classes can run successfully.

  • No touch, talk, or eye contact with any of the dogs, including your own.  Not all dogs are social with humans.  This class is also strongly focused on dog socialization.  Ignoring them gives them the chance to be a dog in a pack environment without human interaction. Staff will communicate with and correct dogs if needed.
  • Any new attendees  are required to have their dog(s) evaluated and approved by staff, regardless of the dog’s temperament.  Evaluations/admittance to class is a one-time $50 fee.  This is so we can get to know your dog and their behavior towards dogs and people before allowing them into class.  This rule does not apply to any dogs that are past or present training clients of Wasatch Canine Camp LLC, or if you have attended our socialization class before.
  • Puppies under 4 months of age or younger do not require an evaluation, but the class entrance fee still applies.
  • Big dogs will not be allowed into the Small Dog class and vice versa, unless approved by a staff member.
  • Please try your hardest to be on time.  It is extremely difficult and distracting to both trainers and dogs to let individuals into class after class has started.  If this is your first time coming to class and you are late, we unfortunately cannot allow you into class.
  • Do not allow your dog(s) to greet other dogs while they are still on leash.  Please keep them 5 feet or more away from any other dogs.  Not all dogs are social while they are on leash.
  • No retractable leashes or harnesses are allowed.  If you do not have a regular leash you can use your leash as a slip lead (we can show you how) or ask a staff member for one.   Please make sure that your dog cannot slip out of their collar.
  • No children under the age of 13 are permitted into the social area.  There is an outside area where they can stay during class.  Interacting with any dogs through the fence (talk/touch) will not be permitted.  This is for their own safety.
  • If for any reason a fight or scuffle between dogs (including your own) breaks out, keep moving, move away from the dogs, and let the staff handle the situation.  Follow any instructions given from a staff member.
  • At the end of class, when leashing your dog, please do so in a calm manner.
  • If you are unable to walk for the entirety of class, please tell a staff member before class begins and we will handle your dog for you.
  • No dog treats or human food is allowed in class.
  • This is not a dog park, this is a structured training class. Please treat it as such.
  • If you are unable to comply with these rules, it may result in expulsion from class.

If you have any questions about any of the above rules, please let us know.

*Any dogs that set foot in our training facility must be up to date on their vaccines. Puppies must have at the very least their first set of vaccines. Proof of vaccines in required before any of our services can be provided, including training, group classes, boarding, and daycare. If you have any questions in regards to vaccines, please let us know!
